Promoting Economic Partnerships in the Middle East: A Jordanian-Iraqi Business Summit

Strengthening partnerships between Jordan, Iraq, and the region through an economic forum

On Sunday, the Economic Forum for Financial, Industrial, and Commercial Partnerships between Jordan, Iraq, and the region was opened by Jordanian Minister of Investment Kholoud Al-Saqqaf. The forum, organized by the Iraqi Business Council in partnership with the Jordanian and Amman Chambers of Industry, will take place over two days at the King Hussein Convention Center in the Dead Sea region. It is considered the largest regional Jordanian-Iraqi economic gathering for business.

The forum sessions will cover key investment opportunities in Jordan and Iraq, commercial and industrial prospects in the two countries, participatory investment opportunities in the region, the role of the banking sector in providing facilities for various sectors, the involvement of international institutions in financial financing for projects, and success stories of Jordanian-Iraqi investment partnerships.

Al-Saqqaf emphasized that this new investment environment law in Jordan promotes equality between foreign and local investors. The law guarantees legislative stability while expanding economic activity. It offers incentives such as customs exemptions, tax discounts, and incentives for export markets. Additionally, it allows for establishing investment funds to attract capital from investment institutions.

Dr. Kamel Al-Dulaimi representing Iraq’s President also highlighted that they are looking forward to enhancing regional integration through these sessions. They aim to build economic interconnection among participating countries while strengthening cooperation in various sectors.

The goal is to deepen mutual understanding between participating countries and pave the way for future development of this region.

In conclusion, this forum brings together Arab and foreign business owners and investors who share a common objective: creating sustainable partnerships that benefit everyone involved.
