New Lenox Crossroads Sports Complex: A $70 Million Facility Set to Boost Economy and Attract Millions of Visitors

Groundbreaking ceremony held for new 100-acre sports complex in Chicago suburb

The New Lenox Crossroads Sports Complex is a $70 million facility that has broken ground in the village. Located near Silver Cross Hospital, the complex will feature 29 youth baseball and softball fields, 12 soccer/multi-use fields, a welcome center, a beer garden, batting cages, a playground, and concession stands. JLG Architects has designed an extensive drainage system for the turf fields that will allow them to be playable within minutes after heavy rain.

The complex will also include a fieldhouse for basketball, volleyball, wrestling, pickleball, and other sports. More than 10 acres of the complex will be dedicated to restaurant, retail, and/or hotel use. Officials estimate that the project will create $12 million in economic development for New Lenox in its first year and $20 million by year three. Once fully operational, the complex is expected to generate more than $34 million in annual economic activity with 1 million visitors a year.
