UN Official Denied Entry to Gaza Strip for Second Time in a Week; Other Articles Discuss Solar Power, Online Shopping and More

The UNRWA leader was denied entry into Gaza

Felippe Lazzarini, Commissioner General of the UN Relief Agency for Palestine Refugees, was denied entry into the Gaza Strip by Israeli authorities for the second time in a week. Lazzarini had visited the sector four times during the hostilities and had planned to meet with UNRWA employees, some of whom were on the front line during the recent conflicts, including the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Lazzarini expressed concern that Israel is preventing humanitarian aid convoys from entering the sector, citing incidents of shooting at cars, intimidation, and mistreatment of employees. He called for an independent investigation into the mortar attack at the Kerem Shalom checkpoint that resulted in the deaths of four Israeli soldiers, with Hamas claiming responsibility for the attack.
