Nicklaus Children’s Health System Receives Improved Ratings from Fitch and Standard & Poor’s

Nicklaus Children’s Health System recently received an upgraded AA- bond rating with a Stable outlook from Fitch Ratings and a reaffirmed A rating with an improved Positive outlook from Standard and Poor’s. This positive news reflects the dedication of the organization to advancing pediatric care leadership in the region, according to President and CEO Matthew A. Love.

The nonprofit health system, which is the parent organization of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, consists of a 307-bed freestanding children’s hospital and a network of pediatric outpatient centers throughout South Florida. It has been recognized by rating agencies for being the premier pediatric hospital in the region, as well as for its growing market share, expanding ambulatory footprint, and hospital affiliations. The health system also includes Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation, a network of nonprofit outpatient and urgent care centers in several counties, a nonprofit physician practice subsidiary, and an ambulatory surgery center. NCHS is the only healthcare system in the region exclusively for children.

The ratings are a result of the hard work of the health system’s staff and their focus on patient care, employee well-being, operational fundamentals, and strategic growth. Nicklaus Children’s Health System has been dedicated to providing exceptional care to children in South Florida for over six decades. With its commitment to excellence in pediatric medicine and its growing market share, NCHS continues to be a leader in child healthcare in the region.
