High Rent Costs Force Reno Public Market Business Owners to Depart

High Rent Forces Businesses to Leave Reno Public Market

Reno Public Market, a popular destination for dining, shopping and entertainment, has seen several business owners depart due to high rent costs. Sarah Reynosa, owner of Fuego Street Tacos, cited the exorbitant rent as the primary reason for her departure. Despite her efforts to cut costs by working long hours, reducing staff and seeking out more affordable food sources, Reynosa was advised by RPM management to increase prices in order to cover the rent.

In response to the turnover of merchants, Reno Public Market released a statement acknowledging that it is a normal part of the business cycle in a diverse marketplace like a food hall. The statement emphasized the importance of meeting consumer needs and evolving dining, shopping and entertainment experiences. RPM stated that they are constantly evaluating new offerings to attract customers and support their merchants through marketing efforts.

Reno Public Market expressed gratitude to all businesses past and present for their contributions in making it a destination for dining, shopping and entertainment. While they do not comment on individual businesses publicly, they are committed to fostering a vibrant and dynamic marketplace for both customers and merchants. Reno Public Market opened its doors last year at the intersection of S. Virginia Street and Plumb Lane.
