Five Hospital-Led Collaborative Efforts Recognized for Improving Community Health at AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Award Ceremony.

AHA Recognizes Hospitals and Health Systems for Commitment to Community Health Enhancement

The AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Award was presented to five hospital-led collaborative efforts on May 1, 2024. These programs were recognized for their exceptional work in improving community health. The winners are the Resourceful program at Essentia Health in Duluth, Minn.; Beyond Violence at John Muir Health in Walnut Creek, Calif.; UH Food for Life Markets® at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio; TC Street Medicine at Munson Healthcare in Traverse City, Mich.; and Forensic Health and Trauma Recovery Center Services at Palomar Health in Escondido, Calif.

Rick Pollack, president and CEO of the AHA, commended the winners by stating that they have demonstrated a strong commitment to improving community health through effective partnerships with other community organizations. He emphasized that these hospitals and health systems have provided exceptional services and programs that have adapted to meet the changing needs of their communities.

The 2025 winners will be recognized at the AHA’s Accelerating Health Equity Conference, which will take place from May 7-9 in Kansas City, Mo. This conference aims to highlight the achievements of these hospitals and health systems in their efforts to enhance community health.
