North Miami Beach is set to host its third annual Small Business Summit & Expo on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at City Hall. Commissioner Daniela Jean, who initiated the event three years ago, is passionate about supporting small businesses and believes they are the backbone of the community.
The expo aims to provide local businesses with valuable resources and opportunities to help them expand and grow. With over 3,000 registered businesses in the city, Jean expects around 500 attendees at the event. Throughout her tenure as commissioner, she has actively partnered with organizations such as Google and Florida International University to offer grant information and educational opportunities for business owners, with the goal of helping them create generational wealth.
Attendees will have access to a variety of resources at the expo, including grants and loans offered by sponsors such as Comcast, Miami Foundation, and Wells Fargo. A business coach will also be available on-site to assist entrepreneurs, while 20 resource partners will provide marketing and financial education. As the Community Redevelopment Agency liaison for North Miami Beach, Jean works year-round to connect local business owners with resources and support networks.
Recently, Jean sponsored an ordinance to support food truck vendors in North Miami Beach, providing them with more opportunities to serve residents in the area. The city also offers series collaborations with Google and FIU that aim to help entrepreneurs succeed in their ventures. This expo is just one of many initiatives aimed at empowering North Miami Beach entrepreneurs and giving them the tools necessary for success.
