St. Hubert High School Hosts Conference Empowering Women in Technology – Catholic Philly

On April 25, Saint Hubert Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia’s Holmesburg section hosted a Women in Technology Conference. This conference took place on International Girls in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Day, which was designated by the International Telecommunication Union. This year’s theme for Girls in ICT Day was Leadership.

The event attracted participants from Saint Hubert’s Technology Club, as well as students from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls and Archbishop Ryan High School. During the day, students engaged in activities such as coding using Artificial Intelligence and had the opportunity for mentoring sessions with female leaders from local corporations.

Several speakers were featured during the conference, including Jeanine Heck, Senior Vice President at Comcast Corporation, who served as the keynote speaker. Students also took part in a panel discussion moderated by Jennifer Palloni, Regional Sales Manager at Cisco. Girls in ICT Day is an initiative of Cisco Networking Academy, a program that aims to provide IT skills and job opportunities to learners worldwide.

The Women in Technology Conference provided a valuable platform for young women to explore career opportunities in the technology industry and interact with successful female leaders in the field. The conference aimed to inspire young girls to pursue careers in STEM fields and to showcase the diverse range of opportunities available to them.
